Ward Carbon Aero Rim Brake Race Wheels utilise 60 mm deep full carbon fibre hooked tubeless rims. This rim depth gives the ideal balance of aerodynamics and cross wind stability.
 
Full carbon aero rim constructed from strong premium grade carbon fibre, which is better than the industry standard. The rim measures 28 mm wide with 21 mm internal width between the hooks.
 
Wide rim width allows the aerodynamically efficient use of wider, smoother, faster rolling tyres. This yields benefits such as: decreased rolling resistance; improved comfort; and increased grip. The rim shape of this wheel perfectly suits the lowest rolling resistance clincher and tubeless tyres available on the market. Note: Inflated tyres will measure around 1-2 mm wider on these rims compared to most other rim brake wheels.
 
Specially developed laser cut full carbon rim braking surfaces provide excellent and predictable rim braking properties in both dry and wet conditions.
 
Our own in-house testing shows that this 60 mm deep rim is the fastest, most aero road race legal spoked front wheel we have ever tested, even beating 80, 82 and 88 mm front carbon aero wheels, which are soon to be outlawed under new UCI regulations from January 2026. Benefits to this mid depth carbon aero rim brake race wheel are that it is lighter and more stable in crosswinds than these other deeper aero race wheels. An incredibly versatile, do it all road race, TT and even track wheel, without compromising speed!

Rim is rated to maximum inflation pressure of 120 psi thanks to the hooked bead type.
 
Lightweight, low profile sealed bearing hubs with hollow aluminium axles, utilising reliable but also easily replaceable sealed cartridge bearings. The front hub has been selected specifically because it creates a front wheel with significantly increased lateral stiffness compared to most other hubs. This is noticable in scenarios where side force is applied to the wheel such as when cornering hard, climbing or sprinting.
 
16 lightweight bladed aero spokes, laced radial for the rim brake front wheel.
 
24 bladed aero spokes, laced 2x cross in the rear wheel for a strength and stiffness bias where there is the additional power transmission torque applied.
 
All wheels are supplied with High Pressure Tubeless rim tape. It is light weight, yet super strong and durable. We have tested it with a clincher tyre to 200 psi (on a 60a rim) with one single ply without any issues. It is thinner than traditional rim tapes, which makes mounting tyres easier.

We offer a 3 year warranty for spoke replacement and retrues. This warranty does not cover postage costs or improper use. In the event of hub or rim failure this is covered by the manufacturer’s policy.
 
Ward Carbon Aero Rim Brake Race Wheel rims have a manufacturer supplied quality assurance warranty period of 1 year under normal riding. If there is any damage not caused by human factors, rims can be replaced.
