The Clincher tyre format has been the basis of all Ward Performance Wheels ever, due to the performance benefits evident through our in-house testing. However, only now is the rest of the track cycling world catching up. Ward Tubeless Clincher Track Disc wheels feature an aerodynamically efficient shape, which is crucial for maximising speed during high speed track events.
 
The wheel geometry, combined with the construction, provides a super stiff yet ultra light weight and low inertia wheel.
 
Wide rim width allows the aerodynamically efficient use of wider tyres than have previously been defacto on track. This yields benefits such as: decreased rolling resistance, improved comfort, and increased grip. The rim section geometry of this wheel perfectly suits the lowest rolling resistance clincher tyres available on the market.

This wheel has been ridden to victory and the National Championship Title at the 2025 British National Track Championships in the Women's Scratch Race, Women's Individual Pursuit and Men's Points Race. Also in the 2024 British National Madison Championships, as well as a UCI Class 2 Scratch race and a UCI Track Champions League Elimination Race.

Constructed from strong premium grade carbon fibre, these wheels are robust and resilient too, unlike some other brands which use fragile tambourine skin style sides, plastic or thin carbon covers.
 
This wheel is equally at home on indoor and outdoor velodromes, with perhaps a quick swap of the tyre, which is both faster and more convenient due to the clincher tyre format.
 
Carbon rim is rated to maximum inflation pressure of 120 psi. This may sound low for indoor velodrome use, but the clincher tyres suited to this wheel provide a larger air volume than typical track tubs, which reduces the optimum inflation pressure.
